  • On November 16, 2009, Attorneys James Sullivan and Elizabeth Tanaka published an article in the Connecticut Law Tribune on defending shareholder derivative suits entitled "Determining Who Has the Claim?"

  • On November 6, 2009, Attorney Sullivan gave a presentation on "How to Respond to Grievance" in a seminar on Legal Ethics and Law Office Management, a seminar that was put on with several attorneys from the Chief Disciplinary Office and the Statewide Bar Counsel.

  • On November 5, 2009, Attorney Moher received a defendant's verdict in Superior Court in a case arising out of a rear end automobile accident.  Jury did not find the plaintiff proved causal connection between accident  and claimed injuries.

  • On October 26, 2009, Attorney Sullivan successfully defended a Fair Debt Collection Practices action against a large debt collector in federal court where, after trial, judgment entered for the defendant.

  • In October 2009, the New England Super Lawyers Magazine listed John Stephen Papa, Jack Steigelfest, and Jamie Sullivan as super lawyers in the area of civil litigation.

  • In April, 2009, Attorney Barber secured a defendant's verdict for a motor vehicle operator who was sued for striking a pedestrian in a cross-walk.

  • On January 1, 2009, Attorney Barber was elected as the firm's managing partner.

  • On October 30, 2008, a Rockville Superior Court jury returned a defendant’s verdict in a trucking liability case in which the plaintiff sustained catastrophic injuries, including permanent tetraplegia and traumatic brain injury, and claimed $3.5 million in economic damages. The defendant was represented by Attorney Cella who tried the case with the assistance of Chris Harrington.

  • On June 2, 2008, Attorney Sullivan spoke to the Rules Committee of the Superior Court about a revision he proposed to the Practice Book Rule on deposition objections. The proposed revision will be voted on at the Judges' Annual Meeting this summer.

  • In January 2008, Attorney Steigelfest was appointed editor-in-chief of the Connecticut Bar Journal.

  • On January 25, 2008, Attorney Sullivan obtained a judgement of $200,000 for his client in an action for intentional infliction of emotional distress in a case tried before Judge Hadden in Superior Court in New Haven.

  • Attorney Rudzik was made a partner on January 1, 2008.

  • In November, 2007, Attorney Whitford obtained a defendant's verdict for a defendant in wrongful death claim before Judge Gilligan in Meriden Superior Court.

  • James Sullivan recently received national certification by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

  • In November of 2007, Attorney Barber was successful in obtaining a defendant's verdict in a motor vehicle accident case tried before Judge Cosgrove in the New Haven Judicial District. Attorney Barber successfully persuaded the jury that the subject accident was due to the negligence of the co-defendant.

  • In September, 2007, Attorney Sullivan was appointed by Judge Teller to a Class Action Task Force to examine the Connecticut Practice Book Rules on class actions.

  • On September 17, 2007, Thomas Cella received a defendant's verdict in New Haven Superior Court in an automobile negligence case in which the plaintiff's car was rear ended by the defendant's car.

  • On May 30, 2007, Jamie Sullivan argued before the Connecticut Appellate Court on behalf of a reinsurer in a reinsurance case in which an insurer was making claims for recovery of over $100 million.
